There are various posters across the island, outlining the basic Rules. Every new arrival is given a copy when they leave Quarantine.
1. All previous laws of the island apply: against murder, against theft, against bodily harm, restricted age sales and so forth. If you have any queries about these rules, ask your local police officer or government official.
All the following Laws come into effect after the closure of borders and ports of entry on 15/7/20.
2. Access to all ports of entry are prohibited to those granted access by the Government. Anyone caught trying to enter a port unauthorised will be detained.
3. In the event a ship is allowed access to the seaport, all crew and passengers of the ship will be quarantined until it is certain they are healthy.
4. All those resident will work to contribute to the general good of the island. Those who do not volunteer for a job will be given work.
4.1. Anyone over the age of 15 will be eligible for work.
5. Failure to turn up to work, without good reason, will result in a cut in rations.
6. All residents will receive a living ration for themselves and their dependents, on the Friday of each week.
7. The production of unnecessary foods, items and clothing is prohibited by law. Requests for items outside of rations may be made to the Government, in writing.
8. Weapons may be possessed for two purposes:
i) Hunting for food
ii) acting in the public defence as necessary.
8.1. Any unauthorised use of a weapon will result in the confiscation of that weapon.
9. Access to quarantined individuals shall be strictly restricted to government medical officials.
9.1. Anyone attempting to break quarantine (either by escape, or unauthorised access from the outside) may be liable to be shot on sight.
